Kings Maintain Defensive Structure

The Kings kept up solid defense in their 2-0 win, in their opener over the Flyers, lead by Jonathan Quick’s 35 save performance. Their new emphasis on creating center of the ice scoring chances appeared to be working, also.

One area of concern might be their faceoff results. Although, overall they won 52%, Anze Kopitar continued to struggle against Claude Giroux, winning just 7 of 21, and Adrian Kempe won just 2 of 9. Overall results were buoyed by Jeff Carter’s 13 of 20, and Nick Shore’s 11 of 17. Stats credited to

I attended the first sporting event ever at the Forum, on December 30th, 1967. It was also my first Kings game, at 4 years old. We have been fans ever since, also attending many Dodgers games, and other LA sporting events.
